Jane Lock North Swindon Prospective Lib Dem MP

Jane is a former County Councillor in Somerset for 14 years, where she served as Chair of Social Services, Deputy Leader of Council and Chair of Social Services. She has a longstanding interest in the adoption of children and was until recently the Chair of the Action for Children panel for the South West of England.

Jane is currently a member of the Independent Monitoring Board of Guys Marsh Prison, helping ensure prisoner's welfare and rights are recognised. She is a trustee of the Somerset Community Foundation, administering grants to local groups.

Currently, Jane runs her own small business, catering and supplying foods to the National Trust from home. She is a qualified cordon bleu cook and teaches young mums how to cook healthily at a local community centre.

Previously Jane farmed in partnership with her husband for 25 years and now lives with the youngest of her four sons near Wincanton.

Damon Hooton South Swindon Prospective Lib Dem MP

Damon had a 23 year career in the army serving in United Kingdom, and across the globe. During this time he lived for many years in various parts of Wiltshire. On leaving the military, Damon worked in property law for eight years including a period based in Swindon. He now works for a major national supermarket.

Damon has served on Mendip District Council since 2003 and as a Frome Town Councillor since 2007. He is the current Mayor of Frome.

He is a founder member of the Liberal Democrat Friends of the Armed Forces, a forum for people within the party and beyond to highlight the key issues that affect the lives of our service men and women.

Damon has three adult sons and is married to Claire, who is also a Lib Dem Councillor.
