Yet again the Tories - supported by the Old Town Conservative Councillors - are threatening the Old Town Library.

Cllr Stan Pajak said, "After the Tory Council tried to shut our library, last year, local campaigners fought hard to win a stay of execution.

"Now the Tories are trying to do it 'by the back door' by removing all staff from the library.

"We are faced either with a library closure or an unworkable unstaffed library."

"Only your local Lib Dem FOCUS Team is supporting the Old Town Library."

Old Town Library - The Facts

FACT: It is the Tories that are threatening our library.

FACT: The library is an essential resource for local people - 60% of users rely on it exclusively.

FACT: Old Town is a successful library. Per square metre the Old Town Library lends two and a half times more books than the £10m Central Library!

FACT: The Tories want to cut £22k from the Old Town Library. In January 2009 every single Tory and Labour Councillor voted for a £10-15k pay increase for Councillors! Every Lib Dem voted against.
