Swindon Lib Dems win regional membership award

Swindon Lib Dem Chair Jenny Shorten receives regional membership award from Party President Simon Hughes MP

Swindon Liberal Democrats have won both the Party's regional awards for their increase in members locally in Swindon.

Local Party Chair, Jenny Shorten (pictured right) says, "I was delighted to hear we had come top of the list for this award. It shows how we are building our support in Swindon.

The awards, named after a prominent grassroots campaigner from Somerset, Les Farris is given to the Lib Dem party that increases its membership in real terms and as a percentage of their existing numbers. Says Regional Party Chair, Peter Ellis, "It isn't often we get the same local group winning both prizes - so this is special, and I am delighted for them. This is a team that has worked hard to improve their local support over the past year - it is well deserved."
